This all started when Donald Tucker, our founder, was working as a construction manager. He was spending all his time bidding jobs, working with homeowners, and managing contractors . . . for someone else. In late 1999 after reading some books, attending some workshops, and talking to a few people, he decided to put his 20 years of construction management experience to work and he bought our first investment. Since that time we have bought 100s of houses, renovated them, and for the most part, sold them across the Kansas City metro area. We've even invested in a few Seller Financed Mortgage Notes across the country.
In 2000 after a long-term love-hate relationship with a career in retail, Kim Tucker quit her job and joined her husband Don in the business. Back then Kim was our Realtor who sold our houses and helped us find houses to renovate. Kim noticed that we were able to have better outcomes for all involved when we could buy houses directly from the families who needed our help. Often families who were helping Mom or Dad downsize or move to a care community and other times families who had inherited Mom or Dad's house.
Kim's job these days is to get the word out to our customers that we are here to help, connect them with the resource they need, and several lo hassle free ways to sell a house quickly. We have the resources to get things done, with less stress, no commissions, and in a faster time frame.
Then in 2011, Scott Tucker joined the team after graduating from KU. In 2011, there were not a lot of jobs for college grads. Rather than find a job, he joined the team and went back to school to get a Real Estate License, joining our brokerage Realty Resource. At the same time, he spent hours and hours learning all about houses and helping sellers. Today, Scott is our guy on the front lines who talks to most of our sellers and helps them explore the best options for them. Scott will chat with you over the phone, and do a bit of research. Then he will come out to your house to take a look so he can help formulate the best plan of action to get your house sold, typically a cash offer from us, but because we are also agents, that may be a listing plan as well.
